El viernes trabajamos con Fernando en la Huerta.
Aprendimos cómo sembrar semillas de lechuga, preparamos un almácigo reciclado (con un envase de huevos Kinder), conocimos qué es el compost y para qué sirve. ¡Ya sembramos nuestras primeras lechugas!

Our Bookshop: Story Elements

The students from second form have worked on the study and posterior analysis of stories.

First, the students have listened to and read some stories during the class. They analysed the different characters in each story and how they were presented. They also studied the setting and the development of the story.

After intensive practice and discussion over these literary elements, students were asked to choose six titles from the ones read in class.

Once the stories were chosen, students were divided in groups and prepared a detailed analysis of them to present today.

The aim of the project is to provide the students with the necessary tools to understand a story from a different point of view and to enrich their enthusiasm for reading and comprehension.  

       “Reading and understanding can change our lives forever.”

Puppets at Northfield!!!

We recieved a very special visit. The storyteller Penny Walter visited us with her puppets' show. We spent a great time with her and her puppets!

Historias de caballeros

En dos grupos leyeron y escucharon leer dos historias de caballeros: "Las increíbles aventuras de Don Quijote y Sancho Panza" y "Arturo, rey y caballero". Buscamos diferencias y similitudes entre ambas historias armando entre todos un cuadro en un afiche que quedó en el salón. ¡Qué divertida aventura!

Around the world in one class!!

With the help of Google Maps we travelled around the world. We visited our homes, saw our school from the sky and even been to Paris, New York and Japan, in just 60 minutes!!!

Armamos rompecabezas que nos ayudarán a descubrir las pistas  sobre lo que se trabajará durante este año con el Proyecto Lector: Caballeros, castillos y princesas.

Curiosidades del Mundo Animal

Clasificamos animales en la pizarra, según su desplazamiento: "¿nadan, corren, vuelan o reptan?", para luego trabajar en pequeños grupos y armar carteles, dibujando o pegando figuras de distintos animales, para dejar en el aula.

Yesterday we talked about what a community is and the different types of communities. Very nice ideas came out, here are some of them!

As part of our Book Fair Project we transformed the classroom into a Movie Theatre!

As part of our activity Generate, sort and connect: Activities with the family, we generated ideas about the different things we can do with out families.

Today we talked about Picasso and cubism. We saw some of his works and made our own creations!

Estaciones de matemática

Resolvimos cálculos mentales en las computadoras, armamos parejas numéricas y jugamos a resolver operaciones con las cartas. Todos pasamos por las diferentes estaciones. Trabajaron muy bien y organizados.

¡Felicitaciones!

Nos convertimos en compradores y vendedores en segundo.

Durante la jornada los chicos, jugaron a ser vendedores. Armaron la librería con diferentes útiles escolares, se distribuyeron los roles, algunos querían ser compradores y otros vendedores, con billetes  realizados por ellos, trabajaron en grupos, comprando y vendiendo.
